Gastronomía de Cuba

In the third week of March, we will present Cuba in the most traditional recipes in Delirest's company restaurants and canteens.

Although tourists travel to Cuba more for the beaches and the local gastronomy is still an overlooked "Cinderella", the plates there play with all colours. Like the local music or architecture, Cuban cuisine is an imaginative mix of fine culinary recipes and practices left behind by waves of travellers from the Spanish and Portuguese to Africans and Chinese. 

The March Delirest CulinaryCalendar will introduce you to Cuba's most traditional recipes. However, anyone expecting seafood and fish dishes to predominate in Cuba island might be surprised. While it is true that such dishes have their place here, pork, poultry and beef dominate the Cuban cuisine.

The third week of March at Delirest, try the Ropa Vieja - pulled beef with rice, vegetables and bean paste, or our great Cubano Sandwich, a baguette filled with pulled pork, smoked ham, emmental, mustard, pickles and potato chips.
